Action Mensch at Klauke
At Gustav Klauke GmbH we don't just focus on work. There's also a special value here with regard to our suppliers and customers. Gustav Klauke GmbH has been supporting Remscheider Lebenshilfe with orders for years. As a whole, people with disabilities can be fully integrated into a work process and are very happy and committed to the cause. This is how they experience the appreciation they deserve and the work they do gives their lives structure, providing them with an important support. The latest project we've carried out together with Lebenshilfe has been creating a tool according to the latest safety standards for the de-insulation of our cable assemblies, which is required during training and trade fairs to demonstrate how our pressing tools work. These display pieces are used during every tool presentation and in this way the Lebenshilfe employees also become part of the large Klauke family. We believe such a successful combination is a win for everyone.

Klauke supports the Burgholz Youth Hospice
The focus here is very much on promoting facilities that have made it their aim to support families in difficult situations – such as the Burgholz children’s and youth hospice in Wuppertal.

Company on the final journey
The Burgholz hospice supports dying children and young people on their final journey together with their parents, brothers and sisters. The facility allows families, including brothers and sisters, to move into the hospice to be with the sick child. During this time, the relatives are also looked after and offered psychological support.

A place of laughter, hope and sorrow
The carers at the children’s hospice want to create beautiful memories for the families during such a difficult time, and for the place to become a second home to them. And so at the Burgholz hospice, they laugh, play, cry and mourn. “The important thing is that the families don’t incur any extra costs during their time with us. That’s why we are very grateful for Klauke’s financial support”, emphasised Kerstin Wuelfing from the Burgholz hospice.

Klauke employees support the commitment
And the Klauke workforce is also happy to contribute to this great cause. The proceeds from a prize draw at Klauke’s 2015 family festival amounting to 2,500 euros were also donated to the hospice, for example. “We are glad that we can pass on our family philosophy in the form of this commitment too”, says the head of the Klauke HR department, summing up.

Klauke sponsors World Vision
We are an international company and as such think globally. This applies to our social commitment too. That’s why we support global projects that focus on the family - by sponsoring World Vision, for example.

Donating instead of giving …
… under this motto, Klauke has decided not to give customers expensive Christmas gifts. Instead, the company is taking responsibility for young people around the globe by sponsoring the World Vision aid organisation.

Help that actually arrives
Currently we are sponsoring eight girls and four boys aged between three and 18 years in Bolivia, Honduras, Vietnam, Cambodia, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Peru, Ethiopia, Tanzania and Chad. The monthly support of 30 euro directly benefits the children and their environment: the funds are used to buy school supplies or to build wells in the villages.

Give joy
The annual highlight for the children and employees is the Christmas season: The time when our colleagues send each sponsored child their own gift pack containing toys and a hand-written Christmas greeting.

Our efforts are appreciated: "The sponsored children write to us on a regular basis and write about themselves. Often, we even get a recent photo too. Time and time again, this reinforces our decision and proves we are doing the right thing”, says an employee in Klauke Sales.

That is why Klauke is involved in numerous projects that provide concrete help quickly while bypassing red tape.  "Children and education" are particularly important to Klauke.

We support a "House of Life"

For several years now, Gustav Klauke GmbH has stopped giving any gifts during the Christmas season. Instead, donations go to organisations such as the Burgholz Children’s and Youth Hospice, with which we have a partnership. Some employees are already familiar with them through events such as the most recent summer festival, but others are not. Gustav Klauke GmbH therefore used the most recent staff meeting to introduce other employees to the facility and, in doing so, to the way the donations are put to use. The initiative was capped off with the opportunity to donate the amount each employee would have received for attending the staff meeting. We were delighted that more than a third of the participants took advantage of this opportunity, resulting in an impressive total of 3,500 euros. What is certain is that the amount will go directly to those in need. The warmth of summer is matched by the warmth in our hearts!

Social Institutions Day
For several years now, Gustav Klauke GmbH has been supporting the Burgholz Children's and Youth Hospice with financial contributions. But it shouldn't stop there. On 25th June, therefore, six employees set out to help run the summer festival marking Social Institutions Day. At two stands made available to us, everything revolved around entertaining the children. A varied programme was offered, ranging from face painting to a tin-can alley and many other games of skill, and it was all very well received.

First insights into the professional world at Klauke
Theory and practice differ significantly, especially in the business world. For this reason, we support students getting an early taste of various professions. In cooperation with the Freie Oberschule Bernsdorf, one or two students have the opportunity through holiday or school internships two to three times a year to gain insight into various professions, such as assembly work at Klauke Bernsdorf. These internships usually last from four days to two weeks. Our experience with this partnership has been consistently positive, and we hope to continue supporting the life paths of young people in the future.

Working together for a good cause
Guided by Klauke’s in-house maintenance specialist, our apprentices and instructors were hard at work in the former Chamber of Commerce (IHK) building on Elberfelder Straße. A residential group has been set up there for children and young people requiring intensive care. The task the Klauke trainees set themselves was to make the entrance area a bit more welcoming. Product design apprentice Dennis Nowotny comments: “We want to add a splash of colour into it,” noting that the previous colour scheme was more sterile. Selma Ergül, who helped out alongside instructor Martin Schmulder, explains that such projects are intended to teach our trainees to stand up for others and solve problems together. The trainees are planning their next work assignment of this kind in a children's hospice.

Tool donation for technical colleges
Klauke Slovakia supports the training of skilled workers in the region through regular tool donations to the "Stredná odborná škola polytechnická" polytechnic school in Dolný Kubín.

Help for disadvantaged people
Providing assistance to the socially and mentally disadvantaged is a matter of particular importance to us. That is why Klauke Austria supports the Morgenstern association by offering internships in the workshop and office of our Austrian branch in Leobersdorf to people with learning difficulties and socially disadvantaged adolescents and young adults .

Klauke "goes to school" in the region
For many years, we have been supporting schools in Remscheid and the surrounding area - for example, through donations in kind such as board games, backpacks, coloured pencils, footballs, or tools. Specifically, Klauke assisted with the reconstruction of the burned-out "GGS Gemeinschaftsgrundschule Eisernstein" in Remscheid. In addition, support was provided for the educational training at BZI Remscheid, and numerous disadvantaged children were assisted with learning materials

Christmas tree campaign
In 2021, during the Christmas season, Klauke launched a very special surprise for the Ronsdorfer Altenhilfe senior care centre for the first time, bringing joy to the residents with numerous gifts. In the meantime, the Christmas tree campaign has become a lovely tradition. Together with his staff, Klauke treats the residents every year with lovingly selected gifts that put a smile on their faces.

Wirtschaft Erleben 2024 ("Experience Economy 2024"):
At the "Wirtschaft Erleben 2024" event, the focus was not only on the fascination with innovative technology but also on social engagement. Thanks to the tremendous support of all our visitors, we were able to donate the entire proceeds from beverage sales—and we went a step further: we generously rounded up the amount and then doubled it. We are therefore delighted to donate 15,000 euros to the Burgholz Children's Hospice. A big thank you to everyone who contributed! Together, we make a difference.
