Updating the standard for cable end sleeves

6 November 2020

The updated standard for insulated cable end-sleeves, DIN 46228-4:2020-03, replaces the previous DIN 46228-4: 1990-09 and DIN 46228-4 Correction 1: 2015-02. The most important change for users is that the standard now recommends the use of Cu-DHP. This is a very good conductive and soft copper.

If sleeves are too hard or too soft, the desired values of the pulling force can often not be reached or in the worst case they can even become torn.

With Klauke, you're on the safe side

To a large extent, having optimal connections all depends on the quality of the material you use! That is why here at Klauke we'd already switched the copper to the best possible quality long before the standard was updated.
