Safe from a distance too
The battery-powered safety cutting unit uses software to check whether or not the battery capacity is sufficient for the cutting job. If the capacity is insufficient, the cutting job is not even started – this ensures the utmost safety.
Tested quality: the DGUV mark
Safety cutting units are tested on the basis of “GS-ET 23, Principles of testing and certification for motor-operated cable cutters”. As the units are awarded the certification as whole systems, subsequent modifications are not permitted. The DGUV mark would otherwise be invalid. The transport casing is also tested, which is why the units can only be transported in this tested container.
There are also other safety cutting units on the market that have been awarded a declaration of conformity. With this declaration the manufacturer proves that its product meets the requirements of the DGUV test, but not specifically the safety cutting unit test by the test and certification body.
Klauke advises against the use of this type of unit. Only a certified test according to GS-ET 23 guarantees a safe cutting unit.
Servicing and maintenance for optimum safety
Klauke recommends a visual inspection before and after each cutting operation to ensure that the machine is in perfect condition after servicing has been carried out. Additionally, the safety cutting unit should be thoroughly cleaned after each use.
