1879

Company founded by Gustav Klauke
in Remscheid. The program consists of top quality tongs and pliers mainly for the clockmakers' trade.


1920

The founder's son Gustav II Klauke takes charge of the company's management.


1948

The management is transferred to Gustav II Klauke's son-in-law Gustav Diederichs as a continuation  of the family business.


1960

The major shift in the business takes place. Continuing electrification has been the cause to decide producing cable lugs and crimping tools.


1965

Gustav Diederichs' son Karl-Gustav Diederichs joins the company.


1968

The production of pliers and tongs is completely discontinued. At the same time the production of cable lugs and crimping tools expands.


1978

Karl-Gustav Diederichs becomes the managing director.


1979

Company Gustav Klauke GmbH celebrates its 100th company anniversary.


1980

An area of approx. 17.000 m² is purchased in Ueberfeld for construction of new production, warehouse and office facilities.


1984

Production starts in the new facilities with a production area of 4.000 m².


1987

Klauke USA is established in Pennsylvania as the first subsidiary.


1988

The whole company moves to the new site with a total production and stocking area of about 9.000 m².


1990

Because of the continuous growth an adjoining site of 3.000 m² is purchased, thus adding 2.000 m² of production facility.



After the German reunification Klauke acquires the Bernsdorf facility of the company HAW in former East Germany. Total area is 10.000 m².


1993

The second subsidiary, Klauke Vienna is founded.


1994

Business in the plumbing and heating industry is officially established.      
Klauke France becomes the third daughter company located in Creutzwald, France.


1995

Klauke obtains the ISO9001 certification for the first time.


1996

Klauke joined the Greenlee Division of the multi-industry U.S. corporation TEXTRON. This direct  ooperation with Greenlee Textron - the U.S. market leader in electrical tools and equipment for the electric and industrial engineering industries . significantly broadened the worldwide presence of Klauke and Greenlee products Building of an additional production and administration facility of 5000 m² starts.


1997

Klauke starts the distribution of Greenlee products in Europe.


1998

Foundation of sales office in Singapore


1999

Karl Gustav Diederichs retires. Implementation of SAP R/3.
Market introduction of a completely new product platform for hand-operated and battery-powered hydraulic tools with 6 and 12 ton crimping force


2000

Introduction of the worldwide patented universal tool Klauke multi Foundation of sales office in Shanghai


2001

Start of the activities in the industry of Tools and Test Equipment for Networks and Telecommunication under  the brand name Tempo, developed and produced within the Textron Group Foundation of sales office Great Britain / Ireland.


2002

Introduction of the Klauke mini an innovative hydraulic tool platform for many different applications.
Significant enlargement of the international plumbing and heating business


2003

The new defined "Klauke Production Principle" is  implemented under consideration of LEAN and KAIZEN.


2004

Klauke celebrates its 125th company anniversary.


2005

Introduction of the Test Instruments from Greenlee, Foundation of sales office Australia


2006

Klauke supports the „Elektromarken. Starke Partner“ initiative and will become a member of E-Check


2007

Foundation of "OOO Klauke Rus" in Moscow, Russia
Inauguration of the new central logistic centre in Remscheid


2008

Foundation of sales office in Bangalore, India.
Acquisition of the Slovakian company Utilux Europe. Utilux is assigned to the activities of Klauke.


2009

20th Anniversary of Klauke France. Klauke France is one of the most important distributors of Tools and Connecting material in France.

The Klauke acedamy for in- and external training will be inaugurated.
